‘Free Guy’ review: An absolute hoot
An absolute delight of an action comedy where being good is a cheat code to thriving in a violent video game world.

'Avengers: Endgame' is an emotional, satisfying conclusion full of fan service to the 1st 22 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Infinity Saga.
If there's anything that can get me out of my writing slump (for now), it's Avengers: Infinity War -- the culmination of all we've been waiting for since we first saw Thanos six years ago -- which I just watched today. Took leave to catch the very first show (which was pretty packed, despite the early hour!) And can I say: WHOA.
Thor: Ragnarok is a slapstick action comedy made by grown children. ?
There is no way for me to review Wonder Woman my way, without revealing major plot points; so if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read it first. Also, WHAT are you waiting for? Go watch it *immediately*!
Captain America: Civil War is heartbreaking. It's a much more sombre film than any in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before, walloping you in the stomach with emotional punches. But it is also one of the best Marvel films to date -- second-best, in my opinion.
Here's how the Marvel Phase One & Two limited edition box sets look like. Marvel hasn't released Phase Three's. Here's hoping it'll be out soon!
In the words of one of the numerous reviewers raving over Mad Max: Fury Road: "See. That. Damn. Movie."
There are movies that I like, movies I love, and movies I *love*. The first are movies I think are good and will watch again, maybe once, at the most twice, such as Kingsman: The Secret Service, Birdman, The Divergent Series: Insurgent. (Anything else is overkill.) The second are movies I’ll gladly watch a few more times, like The Lego Movie and Whiplash, though I need some distance between each viewing. The last category belongs to the films that have won my heart and mind entirely, the ones which after I finished watching them for the first time in the cinema, I immediately wanted to go back in and rewatch them a second, third, fourth time. Cinderella belongs squarely in the last.
A movie that is light on plot, heavy on action. But what awesome action it is! Definitely Keanu Reeves' best since The Matrix.
